Description
Let a writer who loves living in the high country take you to his world. Wendell Kent has been a pastor, teacher, and counselor. Maybe it was those childhood trips across the country with his parents; maybe it was the influence of Zane Grey or Louis L'Amour, two favorite authors. Something started a dream that never went away. Someday he would live in the west, the land of cowboys and Indians, mountains and rivers, canyons and cactus. The dream came true. Now the author lives in the heart of the Colorado Rockies, enjoying every minute. Here are essays that are inspiring, amusing, and thought-provoking. Every lover of the mountains will relate to word pictures of pesky but delightful hummingbirds, snowcapped fourteeners, small-town wisdom, and high-country rivers.Wendell Kent is a graduate of Wheaton College, with additional degrees from Grace Theological Seminary and Shippensburg University. He has served pastorates in California, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He now resides in Buena Vista, Colorado. He is a trustee of the Buena Vista Public Library and regularly contributes to the Writer's Corner of the Chaffee County Times. He is a diplomate of the Institute of Children's Literature and was winner of the 2004 Buena Vista Heritage essay contest.
